P-day fun and more fun

Hosford Family,

Sorry I put off writing for a couple of days. I have just been lazy and busy. So during my down time, I don't do the things I should, but when I am busy ... I just do things.

Today is p-day.  We went to Mt. Etna last p-day which was a lot of fun. Plus we were with a lot of crazy missionaries from the zone which made it more fun. Today we are going out with the sisters, two members, and Austin to do a boat tour of Siracusa. I am excited.  I am charging my camera so I can take lots of photos.  I have so many photos now.  I have well over 2500 on my flash drive cause I rob other's photos.  I have taken about 1600 photos myself. I am about to fill up my second camera card.  I still have a third to fill up.

We have done a lot of work for our English course and its really starting to grow. Not as big as Caserta, maybe a third the size. We have given out like 2000 English passalong cards and it's starting to make us a little well known.

Then I am working on getting a ward mission plan established here.  I am getting a couple plans from other branches.  I believe it is something needed here.

Our work is about to hit another phase.  Austin, the American, we have been teaching and is more of a friend now more than anything.  He's going home Saturday. He is great though.  Really progressing, reading a lot, and just has a real desire to know the truth for himself. We talked about the importance of temples and marriage. The thing with him is that he saw it as his goal.  He expressed a desire to me to be baptized as well and I think he came to that desire in a sense without me. I hope I gave him a good start. That start being when you have a question or concern read, pray, go to church to find the answer. He is great.  Has to wait until he is 18, but I think he will be okay. His mom is a big against us because she doesn't know what we believe.

Then we have an investigator Marysela who agreed to a baptismal date for the 4th of August and we are hoping to teach her husband as well when he arrives here. We aren't able to see her often because she works a ton, but she is reading and feels the Spirit. She really likes the plan of salvation and its diagram we do.  BTW -- can you send me a plan of salvation diagram?  Something I can use while I teach.

Hope everythign is going well at home.  Just so you know, your letter and postcard arrived on the same day, Mom.  Love everyone lots and talk to everybody later today.  Anziano Hosford

So we went on this boat tour today and saw some caves around Siracusa. I want to come back and find them when I return. We went with sisters, Austin, and two members. It was a bit of fun.  You'll also find a picture from the last zone conference. Look at the ties. Its the style here.  A photo with Austin and then eating for family night.

Austin -- our American

Hosford Family and Friends,

Sorry I am writing home a little late.  I am behind in a couple things and I just found the time to write a letter off.

Things have been going okay here.  Just so many problems with the ward it makes the work here a nightmare.  However, some of the members have started to finish that 21-day promise even though we still do a bit of finding.  I think I am on my last transfer here.

Either ways, that lady we sent to Torino has returned and apparently its what she does. We don't want anything to do with her. She has really made us mad and she showed me again why not to trust people.  Oh well, her loss.

We still have our American that we are working with.  He has come to church twice. He is reading the Book of Mormon pretty quickly as well.  Tonight we are going to see one of his plays. He reminds me a lot of Graham.  A lot of fun to be around and a good friend.

We are also teaching this girl named Marysela.  Still.  She can only see us on Thursdays and we aren't sure if we will be able to see her today. With her its a little hard to see where she is at. She comes to Church, but we don't know if she is reading or not.

Then we have a couple others we are trying to work with less actives and contacts.

This p-day we spent is with a member here who was a mission president of Catania. We ate and did a lot of sightseeing driving with them yesterday.  They are a very nice couple.

Other than that not a whole lot going on. I am gaining my voice back again.  I lost it last wee.  Hope everything is going well at home. Wish Megan a happy birthday and I hope she enjoys the care I sent.  Love Everyone!
