My companion is a pretty cool guy

Dear Family,

So I am here in the MTC.  Everything is very different.  Everyday is completely scheduled out and all self time has pretty much been eliminated. It's a lot of fun being with a lot of guys my own age.  Been meeting a lot of new people.  This place reminds me a lot of Rexburg.  Everyone is helpful and constructive.

My companion is a pretty cool guy.  He is a lot like me and we get along pretty well.  Everyone in my zone and district are just great guys.

I appreciate all the work Mom and Dad did to get me out here.  I am slowly starting to realize that learning Italian is going to be a lot of work.  I hope everyone is doing well at home and I look forward to everyone's letters.

Mom and Dad -- Thanks for taking care of Sunny.  She really is going to need parental figures to look after her while I'm away.

I was also wondering if you could send me out a case for my legal pads.  Also don't send me any gum.  Send me Altoids instead.

Sincerely,

Anziano Hosford

Map of the world

Family, I love you

Hosford Family,

This isn't my offical letter for the week!  I will write a general letter on Wednesday (P-day). Make sure it is posted on Facebook.  Make sure to send that letter to anyone who asks.

Mom - make sure that Danni Wisser is included on that email list.

Somethings I need to have done are:

This check needs to be deposited into my savings account.
I need to know the balance of my checking and savings accounts.
I need to know if my Federal and State tax return has come yet.
If it has pay a 10% tithe on both and a 1% fast offering.
I need to know the current price of Ford Motor stock.

Dad - set up stop orders on that stock at $12.

Family, I love you. -- Anziano Hosford

Saying Goodbye

Saying goodbye to your son for 2 years is not an easy thing to do even when he's been away at college for 2 years.  We took him out to the MTC and were able to spend a few days in Utah doing a little last-minute shopping, seeing sights, and attending the temple.  It was a heart-wrenching morning telling him goodbye.  I think it might be easier to put a young missionary on an airplane and go home and cry.
